ANNOUNCEMENTS

 

  • The Office of Vital Records in New Castle has opened its new location at 105 Nesbitt Road, New Castle, Pennsylvania 16105.  The office is open from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M., Monday through Friday.  Same-day service will be offered beginning April 2, 2018, for individuals who apply for a copy of their birth or death certificate by 11:30 A.M.
  • Looking for Estate Notices or other legal notices requiring publication in a Pennsylvania Legal Journal?  Go to www.palegalads.org
  • The Public Access Policy of the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania Case Records of the Appellate and Trial Courts took effect on Monday, January 8, 2018.  This policy affects certain filings in the Orphans' Court office, and should be reviewed prior to filing or attempting to view certain filings held in our office.  An electronic version of the Public Access Policy of the Unified Judicial System of Pennsylvania Case Records of the Appellate and Trial Courts may be found at:  http://www.pacourts.us/public-records
  • Pursuant to an act of the Pennsylvania Legislature, effective Monday, November 20, 2017, the JCS fee (imposed by the PA Supreme Court on all Petitions for Letters, and on all first filings for Adoptions, Small Estates, Trusts, Guardianships, and Minors' Estates) was increased from $35.50 to $40.25, in the Office of the Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans' Court.

PLEASE NOTE:  Both Marriage LIcense applicants are still required to appear before a clerk in our office with the required documentation, identification, and fee.  If the proper documentation is not provided, the application will not be processed.  Additionally, the three-day waiting period does not begin until you have appeared before a clerk in our office and the application has been signed.
