Introduction

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department operates year-round, bringing the residents of Butler County quality, affordable recreational opportunities. The Parks and Recreation Department regularly submits press releases to all of the local media. Our programs are advertised on the radio and in the print medias. Many of the programs that are offered by the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department have minimum and maximum participant requirements, and registration deadlines. If you are interested in attending a program or class, be sure to register early.

 

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department has a no-refund policy for all programs and rentals. This also applies to Alameda Waterpark admissions and aquatic programs. The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department may be offering additional programs that were not available at the time of printing. Please call the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department for programs that have been added after this website was updated.

 

By registering or participating in any Butler County Parks and Recreation Department activities you agree to allow publication of any photo or video taken at any program, event or facility. The County of Butler, without obligation to provide compensation to those photographed, may use such photographs. Photos and video taken at activities may be used for publication as the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department and its sponsors deem necessary. If you have an idea for a program, would like us to expand on our current programs, or have any questions or comments, please let us know.

Butler County Parks and Recreation Policies

  1. Alameda Pool and The Kid's Zone Playground areas are tobacco-free areas. No tobacco products may be used within 20 feet of entrances. This also includes the use of E-cigarettes. 

  2. The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department has a no-refund policy in effect for all programs and for Alameda Pool.

  3. Most Classes are limited in size. Registration will be on a first come-first serve basis.

  4. Payment is expected at the time of registration. Cash, money orders, or personal checks. Please make checks payable to "County of Butler".

  5. Please check the programs for which you are registered. No confirmation notices will be sent.

  6. The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of handicap status in the provision of programs.

  7. The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel programs due to insufficient registration. Unless notified, classes will begin as scheduled.

  8. The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department welcomes people of all abilities. Please note that a 48-hour notice is requested for any person with a disability who needs special accommodations to participate in a program.

  9. Alameda Pool may be closed for reasons of poor weather or attendance, safety factors, or special events. Please see our pool rules and regulations for a complete listing of policies and guidelines.

Night Disc Golf 

Saturday September 30th at 9:30pm

Join us in the park after hours for a disc golf competition. Registration will be at 9:00pm and the event will start at 9:30pm. Chris Lachendro from the the Professional Disc Golf Association will be helping to run these events at Alameda Park and we are so pleased to have him. This will be a Night Round on a temp course. The temp course will be setup next to the Purple park. Check-in from 8:45pm-9:15pm,we will have a short players meeting and then tee off at 9:30pm. This event is open to all skill levels and all money will be collected at the event.
There are two options to pay for: 
25$ 2x Niteize night disc golf discs (1 putter and 1 driver)
10$ Bring your own discs. (This is a night round make sure they light up or glow)

Alameda Story Time Adventures

Thursdays June 15th-August 10th

Join us for some fun Storytelling as we read a selection of Children's stories every Thursday, 11:30am-12:00pm at the Rotary Shelter from June 15 through August 10. This is sure to be a fun and imaginative activity for all! No registration required, and Alameda Story Adventures is entirely FREE!

 

 

Monday FREE Movies in the Park

Monday August 7th @ 8:30pm

“Angry Birds”

We will be hosting a FREE Monday Movie in the Park on the Big Screen at Masonic Shelter! The movies will start at 8:30 pm with FREE popcorn!

 

 

Alameda Septemberfest

Sunday September 24th 

10:00am-4:00pm

 

The 20th Annual Septemberfest is back and admission is still FREE! Fees for vendors, car cruisers, anglers, and 5k participants can be found at the Butler County Parks and Recreation Office, if not listed below. 

Our Award Winning Youth Fishing Derby returns (yes, we have live fish in Alameda Waterpark), along with games, face-painting, children activities, music, prizes, and the Annual Alameda Septemberfest Car Cruise.

We will have food vendors, crafters, and vendors of all types with us during the Septemberfest. 

The Craft and Vendor Show will be from 10:00am until 4:00pm.

If you are interested in reserving a space as a vendor or crafter, cost will be $45.00 for a 12’x12’ Non Electric Space and $55.00 for Electric Space.

Car Cruise

Join our Septemberfest and bring your car for our Car Cruise. Half craft vendor show and half car cruise. This year you can enter your car to be on our Septemberfest t-shirts next year in 2017! Drop in and submit your name, the winner will be drawn at 3:00pm the day of the event on September 24, 2017. If you pre-register at $12.00 you will receive a t-shirt during the event. Pre-registration is due by September 8th, 2017. Join us the day of the event at no charge, however you will not receive food voucher or t-shirt. T-shirts will be available by purchase at the registration tent. The first 100 cars will receive a dash plaque for the Annual Alameda Septemberfest.

5K Lions Club Toot and Scoot

The Lions Club is teaming up with Butler County Parks and Recreation for their annual 5K walk/run! This year at the Septemberfest participate in this benefit run then enjoy an awards ceremony, raffle prizes, and chili! Proceeds benefit the Butler Lions Club charities that include the Blind Association of Butler/Armstrong County and Butler Meals on Wheels.

Pre-registration is encouraged but not mandatory. The race starts 9:00am sharp on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Pre-registration can be sent by mail, or you may register on the day of the race starting at 7:30am at the Carousel Shelter. Youth Fishing Derby

Fishing starts Sunday September 24th  for children ages 15 years and younger.

The Award Winning 20th Annual Alameda Youth Fishing Derby.

We have one age group for fishing for prizes.

The cost is $9.00/angler. Please bring your own tackle, fishing pole, and bait. We will provide the fish!

Please note: All anglers pre-registered can check in at the Alameda Waterpark.

Those needing to register must check in at the Septemberfest Registration Tent prior to coming over to the Alameda Waterpark area.
