Pennsylvania Sentencing Commission

The Butler County CJAB hosted a training session presented by the Pennsylvania Sentencing Commission which was attended by criminal justice system professionals from Butler and several surrounding counties.
Adult Probation Officer Rick Carr processes the fingerprints of a probationer via the new LiveScan unit which instantly transmits the individuals' fingerprints to the Pennsylvania State Police Fingerprint Repository. This technology searches the data base for wanted persons and open criminal cases for comparison.

Butler County Prison Counselor Justin Baptiste supervises an inmate's use of the new Aztec Learning System which enables inmates to work toward the completion of their G.E.D., prepares them for employment after incarceration and teaches everyday life skills. This system was obtained through grants secured by our CJAB.
Correction Officer Lisa Vasey photographs an inmate via the new Commonwealth Photo Imaging Network (CPIN) System which instantly transmits the image to the Pennsylvania State Police Repository. The CPIN and LiveScan Systems were obtained by our CJAB via a grant provided by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency in cooperation with the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association.
