Alameda Waterpark Policies

Open Saturday June 3rd-Sunday August 27th 2017

 

 

      Alameda Waterpark is waiting for you and your family with our two enclosed tube slides, two toddler tot zero entry

     areas, pirate cove splash pad, drop slide in the diving well, Aqua Rock Wall, 2 diving boards, a concession stand,

     programs and classes galore, the Alameda Gator Swim Team, and the most professional staff in Butler

     County. We open the doors on Saturday June 3rd and we offer swim lessons, a competitive swim team, lifeguard

     classes, CPR classes, Moonlight Swims, adult swim lessons, private swim lessons, private pool parties, and birthday

     party packages all summer long.  We have something for everyone, and if we don’t, just ask

     and we will try to get it done!  Call the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department for more details.

 

     Did we mention that the pool is HEATED?

 

Policies and Guidelines

  • Alameda Waterpark Members will have the Early Entry Advantage to enter from the side gate from 12:00 p.m-12:15 p.m. 
  • Alameda Pool and The Kid’s Zone Playground areas are tobacco-free areas. No tobacco  product may be used within 20 feet of entrances. This also includes the use of any E-Cigarettes.
  • Waterpark Membership Passes may be purchased at the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department in Alameda Park. Passes may not be purchased at the pool. 
  • Children 2 and under are free with adult admission and must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by a responsible person age 16 or older.
  • The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to refuse admittance.
  • All children who are not potty-trained must wear a swim diaper.
  • Floatable rafts, swim tubes, noodles etc. are permitted at the discretion of the pool staff.
  • Inflatable arm supports (water wings) are not permitted.
  • Swimmers must be dressed in appropriate swimwear.
  • Please use gender-appropriate locker rooms with school age children.
  • The use of goggles are not permitted on slides or diving well area. 
  • The diving mask is not permitted to be used in the pool area. The use of googles and nose pieces combined is also not permitted.
  • Adirondack Chairs are reserved for patrons age 16 and older.
  • All guests must behave in a family-friendly and courteous manner, and a manner which is safe for themselves and for others. Violations may result in ejection from the Waterpark, without refund. The following is strictly prohibited: Smoking, offensive conduct, fighting, unruly behavior, property damage/theft. 

 

Hours of Operations

  • Saturday June 3rd-August 27th, 2017.  Open for public swimming Monday – Sunday 12:15 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Weather permitting.
  • Members will have the Early Entry Advantage to enter from the side gate from 12:00 p.m-12:15 p.m. 
  • Alameda Waterpark may close early or open late due to special events.
  • The waterpark will be closing early at 5:00 p.m. due to home swim meets Thursday, June 15 & Thursday, June 22.
  • Rain checks will be available if the pool closes early due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, prior to 6:00 p.m. to those paying daily admission, and bearing a receipt proving admission.

Inclement Weather / Pool Closings

Alameda Waterpark may close due to inclement weather.  The staff will clear the pool area at the first sound of thunder. If the waterpark stays closed for 1 hour or more, then the waterpark may remain closed for the remainder of the day.

If the waterpark remains closed, no refunds will be issued. Alameda Waterpark and the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department have a no-refund policy in effect for all programs, passes, and daily admissions.

Alameda Waterpark may also close, or fail to open if the outdoor temperature is at 70 degrees or below. If attendance drops below 10 patrons, Alameda waterpark may close.  Alameda waterpark hours may vary due to scheduled special events. Please call the Butler County Parks and Recreation Office for more information. Rain checks are available with your current receipt. 

 

     

 


Learn to Swim

 

Alameda Swim Lessons

 

 
Alameda Swim lessons are for everyone!  Provide your children with the skills necessary to safely use pools and other aquatic environments.  This program is for all ages and skill levels.  This program has been changed and updated, so please look at the levels closely.  If you are not sure where your child belongs, ask us!!!  We can help.
 
For our children ages 6 months – 3 years we have our Waterbaby levels (parent and child are in the water together), Preschool Aquatics (ages 4 and 5) (children without parents) and Learn To Swim levels 1 through 6.  There is limited space in each session, and level. 

 

Swimmers will be required to demonstrate skills in order to advance to the next level. Registration is on a first come first serve basis and payment is required at the time of registration.  Cost is $45.00 for Alameda Pool members and $55.00 for non-members, per 2-week session (approx. 6 classes weather permitting). Please use the registration form at the back of this brochure. There is a no-refund policy for all Butler County Parks and Recreation Department programs, including the swim lessons. Swim lessons are different from other sports or activities. Children often need to retake a level to become proficient in their skills. The skill levels described list the criteria your child will need to demonstrate in order to advance to the next level. If you are unsure of the correct level, please ask us for assistance.

Private Swim Lessons

Alameda Waterpark offers private swim lessons for all ages and skill levels. If our group swim lessons do not meet your time constraints, or you feel uncomfortable in a group setting, let our instructors teach you in a one on one environment. Private swim lessons are also advantageous for anyone who requires special accommodations or has a learning disability.

Private lessons are 30 minutes in length and are $18.00 per session. We also offer a five-lesson package for private lessons. Members pay $84.00, and non-members pay $90.00. Lesson times are based on your availability, and instructor availability within a two week period.

Lifeguarding Class Registration  - Register Now!

The American Red Cross Lifeguard Training course is a comprehensive course that prepares participants for the rigors of Lifeguarding. Successful completion of the course includes training in CPR for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Lifeguarding. Registration is being taken at the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department at Alameda Park.

This is the new updated course, and all certifications are good for 2 years. Classes cost $150.00 for pool members and $180.00 for non-members. Class size is limited, so please do not hesitate to call. Prices are subject to change according to any changes from the American Red Cross. The first class is scheduled for the mid May during evenings and Saturday morning. Please call the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department for detailed schedule and dates and registration information.

Prerequisites include basic swimming skills and participants must be 15 or older by the last day of class.

 

Prerequisites Candidates must:

1. Be at least 15 years old on or before the final scheduled session of the course.

2. Swim 300 yards, continuously demonstrating breath control and rhythmic breathing. Candidates may swim using the front crawl, breaststroke or a combination of both, but swimming on the back or side is not allowed. Swim goggles may be used.

3. Tread water for 2 minutes, using only the legs. Candidates should place their hands under the armpits.

4. Complete a timed event within 1 minute, 40 seconds:

     o Starting in the water, swim 20 yards. Swim goggles are not allowed.

     o Surface dive, feet-first or headfirst, to a depth of 7 to 10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object.

     o Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point with both hands holding the

        object and keeping the face at or near the surface so they are able to get a breath.

     o Exit the water without using a ladder or steps.

 

CPR / First Aid / Lifeguarding Recertifications

If you need recertified we can help. Recertification classes and testing occur on as needed basis. Recertifications would be offered Thursday, Friday in the evenings 5:00pm-8:00pm and Saturday mornings 9:00am-11:00am. Must attend all three dates or schedule a private date with the instructor.

Alameda Gators Swim Team

 

Swim Team Registration - Saturday May 6th, 2017   1:30pm-3:30pm 

 

Registration for the Alameda Gator Swim Team will take place Saturday May 6th from 1:30pm-3:30pm, at the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department.  The cost is $50.00 for Alameda pool members and $60.00 for non-members.  You must be a member at the time of registration to be eligible for the discount.  Join the Gators as we head into the 2017 summer season.  The swim team teaches competitive swimming, teamwork, leadership, and most importantly, how to have fun in the water. All swimmers age 6 thru 17 are welcome!  Come out and be a part of it all!  Special thanks go out to the Swim Team Parents Group for your dedication, support, and continued commitment in providing a quality swim program for the youth of Butler County.

Please be aware that the Parent Board is designed to help run the Alameda Swim Team. Parents are expected to volunteer at all home meets as well as 1 away meet. There are also fees associated in addition to the Butler County Parks and Recreation Department. There is an additional check to the Parent Board per swimmer: $20.00 for 1 swimmer and $10.00 for each additional swimmer capped at at a total of $40.00.

Dog Paddle Pool Pawty

Butler County Parks and Recreation teamed up with Butler County Humane Society to help donate back to our furry friends, 50% of the proceeds will go to Butler County Humane Society. Butler County Humane Society will be judging our longest jump contest. 

The Butler County Parks and Recreation Department is offering this very special program to all dog lovers. We are opening the pool for a canine only swim!

Lifeguards will be on duty, the play stations will be on, and our four-legged friends can enjoy a leisurely dip in Alameda Waterpark. Please note the slides and diving boards are off limits. 

Please remember to bring a copy of your pet’s license and a copy of their current vaccination records in order to gain entry to the waterpark.
